School Uniform
We believe that children should develop a pride in their appearance and identification with their school. School uniform should therefore be worn by all pupils each day at school, and for school events such as educational visits and church services.
As in all our aims, we expect our pupils to set themselves high standards. Emphasis is placed on being smart, clean and tidy. Parents should ensure that all uniform items are clearly marked with their child's name. Please be aware that our school logo is registered as a trademark and so only authorised suppliers are able to reproduce it.
Our uniform
The St Nicholas required uniform is as follows:
- Royal blue V-neck sweatshirt / cardigan with school logo
- Light blue shirt / blouse
- Royal blue & gold striped tie
- Smart skirt / pinafore / trousers / shorts - grey
- Blue and white checked dress (summer)
- Sensible flat shoes - black, navy or brown (no trainers, boots, open-toed shoes or heels)
Extras (optional):
- Royal blue book bag with school logo
Our required PE kit is:
- Royal blue tracksuit with school logo
- Navy blue shorts
- Navy PE t-shirt with school logo (from 1st Class Kids and Price & Buckland) / white PE t-shirt with school logo (from Price & Buckland)
- Trainers
Children come to school dressed for PE on their designated day. This means that children do not need to get changed for the lesson, so they are ready for quality PE for the entirety of the lesson.
Jewellery and hair
The school has a no jewellery policy. If your child is wearing earrings, including studs, they may not be able to take part in PE lessons and so this could lead to them not receiving their full National Curriculum entitlement. School staff are not permitted to remove children's jewellery, so they should not wear it at all.
Long hair must be tied back regardless of the child's gender. Parents are asked to ensure that haircuts are smart and tidy. Any hair accessories should be subtle with no beads, large bows, etc. permitted.
